Tips for Visitors

Where to stay, where to eat. Downtown is the walkable choice — a dozen top-rated restaurants within four blocks of the Riverwalk. If you’re driving in for dinner, Jefferson Avenue parking is your friend on weekends.

Reservations. The top downtown restaurants (Sullivan’s, Hugo’s, Vasili’s, Allegory) book out on weekends. Reserve 1–2 weeks ahead for Saturday nights.

The hidden gems are on Ogden. Ogden Avenue has the best ethnic kitchens in Naperville — Uzbek, Korean BBQ, Central Asian, South Indian. If you’re looking for something you can’t find in Chicago, this is where to look.

Parking in downtown. Free on weekends, metered weekdays. The Van Buren and Central parking decks are the easy answer.

Best time for the Riverwalk. Golden hour in spring and fall. Many restaurants (Vasili’s, Sullivan’s patio) open their outdoor seating May through October.
