Midway through a lavender-infused gin cocktail that tasted like a garden in a glass, I realized this was the most fun I'd had at a Naperville dinner in months. The roasted bone marrow with sourdough and herb gremolata was the table's unexpected favorite: rich, primal, and completely different from the polished small plates surrounding it. The staff has a talent for reading the room: our server dialed back the pace when we lingered, then picked it up when we were ready. For a place that photographs this well, the substance-to-style ratio is refreshingly high.
