Local team review
The Nutella calzone ended our meal, and it nearly started a fight over the last piece — wood-fired dough folded around warm Nutella, dusted with powdered sugar, and gone in under two minutes. That alone would justify a return trip, but the Honey Bee pizza is the real reason this place stays packed: blistered crust, soppressata, Calabrian chili, and a drizzle of hot honey that walks the line between sweet and spicy with total precision. Grab a counter seat near the open kitchen and watch the pizzaiolo work the oven — it's dinner and a show.
About the Restaurant
Gia Mia brought its Wheaton-born magic to downtown Naperville in 2022 and immediately became the place where pizza nights feel elevated. The wood-fired oven turns out blistered, leopard-spotted pies that balance crispy and chewy in every bite, while the pasta menu, especially the vodka rigatoni, gives the pizzas genuine competition. The Washington Street space is warm and buzzy, with an open kitchen that lets you watch the pizzaiolo work. Counter seats by the bar are the best seats in the house.
Insider Tip
The Honey Bee pizza, mozzarella, soppressata, Calabrian chili, and hot honey, is the sleeper hit that converts skeptics.
