The monthly wine club bottle is a clever hook, but the real draw is how seriously the kitchen treats its seasonal menu — the braised lamb shank in winter was fork-tender with a rosemary demi-glace that felt more bistro than suburban. If you've dismissed this place as a gimmick, the chocolate lava cake alone will change your mind.
About the Restaurant
Cooper's Hawk did something clever: it married a working winery to a full-service restaurant and created a format that's now a suburban institution. The Naperville location pours wines made in-house, including a Lux Meritage that over-delivers, alongside a menu that pivots seasonally from burrata salads to braised short ribs. The tasting room is perpetually lively, the Wine Club members get first dibs on limited releases, and the overall vibe splits the difference between polished and approachable.
