CityGate Grille

Local team review
The bone-in pork chop with apple mostarda is the dish that nobody talks about, and it should be famous. Thick-cut, juicy, with a cider-sweet condiment that cuts through the richness like a sharp knife through butter — it was the best thing on our table by a wide margin. The wine list here is genuinely deep without the markup that chain steakhouses love to pile on. Being independently owned shows in small ways: the bread arrives warm, the server remembers your drink, and the check never carries a surprise.
About the Restaurant
CityGate Grille operates at that sweet spot between neighborhood gem and special-occasion destination. The menu leans steakhouse but ventures into seafood and pasta with genuine ambition, the pan-seared scallops compete seriously with the filet. The wine list runs deep without the pretension, and the dining room's warm wood tones and moody lighting set exactly the right tone. Unlike the chains down the road, this one is independently owned and it shows in the details.
Insider Tip
Ask about the off-menu daily fish preparation, the chef sources whatever looks best that morning.
