Biryani Pot on Patriot Lane does exactly one thing exceptionally well, and the name tells you what it is. The Chicken Dum Biryani arrived in a sealed clay pot that released a fragrant cloud of saffron and whole spices when cracked open, the long-grain basmati cooked to individual, separate grains with each one carrying color and flavor from the layered spice treatment. The chicken buried beneath was fall-apart tender, seasoned through to the bone. We also sampled the Mutton Biryani, which brought a richer, gamier profile that Hyderabadi biryani purists will appreciate. The Samosas served as a crisp, potato-filled starter that paired well with the tamarind chutney. The Naan Roll, a newer addition, wraps kebab meat in fresh naan bread for a portable option that works for takeout. The dining room is small and functional, designed more for pickup orders than lingering meals, but the kitchen's focus on biryani technique elevates this beyond a standard Indian takeout operation. When a restaurant builds its identity around a single dish, it had better deliver. Biryani Pot does.
