Ancho and Agave opened on Showplace Drive with a cantina energy that Naperville has been missing: bright murals, agave-forward cocktails, and a taco board that invites sharing. The hand-smashed guacamole arrived tableside, prepared with visible chunks of avocado, fresh lime, and just enough jalapeño to register without overwhelming. Their taco lineup spans classic fillings on fresh tortillas, and the Esquites, off-the-cob Mexican street corn, delivered a smoky, creamy side dish that paired naturally with everything we ordered. Margaritas here are made with hundred-percent blue agave tequila, and the bartender builds each one from scratch rather than reaching for a premix. The horchata, served cold and cinnamon-forward, offered a non-alcoholic option that earned its place on the menu. The dining room seats comfortably with a modern cantina aesthetic, colorful without being kitschy, and the weekend crowds have already made reservations a smart move. This is a newer addition to the south Naperville dining corridor that shows real promise for becoming a neighborhood staple.
