Local team review
On a quiet Wednesday evening, far from the brunch chaos, we discovered a completely different side of this place. The short rib pappardelle arrived in a wide bowl, the braised meat falling apart into a San Marzano ragu that clung to every ribbon of fresh pasta — rich, slow, and deeply comforting. Our server nudged us toward the loaded Brussels sprouts with bacon and balsamic, and it was the single best side dish we ate all month. The Library Old Fashioned, their bourbon-and-smoked-cherry signature, turned a weeknight into something worth remembering.
About the Restaurant
Allegory pairs a book-inspired interior, think leather-bound menus and literary references woven into the cocktail list, with a New American menu that's smarter than it needs to be. The fried chicken sandwich is a lunchtime institution, the short rib pappardelle is rich enough to end an argument, and the cocktails are built with a bartender's pride. Located on Main Street, it catches the downtown foot traffic but rewards those who linger with a second drink and the loaded Brussels sprouts.
Insider Tip
The loaded Brussels sprouts with bacon, Parmesan, and balsamic are the table's most reordered dish, get them immediately.
